Scottish Curling Stones on their way to Wanaka

29 original  Scottish curling stones packaged and picked up from Gary our Scottish ambassador. Gary has done a magnificent job of sourcing stones for us, we are indebted to him. CCC has acquired more stones than was originally contemplated . The committee felt that this was an opportunity that may well not arise in the future. This will be a drain on Club funds and we would welcome donations from members towards defraying the cost. On arrival in Wanaka, these stones will be cause for some sort of special ceremony. Outdoor Curling at CCC will be in good heart

Success at McRae Cup

Good turnout last night at the AGM. The meeting recognized the excellent effort of the team that played in the McRae Cup earlier in the day in Alexandra. This was a good result following an earlier drubbing by an unmentioned team at the Masters Games in Dunedin!! Well done to skip John, and team members Simon, John and Mike. 2 inches of ice on rink with more to follow ......

Club purchases old Scottish Curling Stones

Good news for our Club. Over the past 3 weeks we have successfully purchased 8 pairs of old Scottish outdoor curling stones. Some over 100 years old. We are most grateful to our contact in Arbroath Scotland for the great work in sourcing these hard to find antiquities.  We expect to see these stones in approx 4-5 weeks. Aye they will be cause for a wee celebration !!!
